I am a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Future of Higher Education program at the University of California, Berkeley. I received my PhD in linguistics from UC Berkeley Department of Linguistics in Spring 2023. My degree is supplemented with a Designated Emphasis in Indigenous Language Revitalization. My dissertation is accessible here!

My work focuses on Mam (Mayan) language revitalization and maintenance through teaching courses on language and culture in a US diaspora community. With Silvia Carrillo Godinez and Cristina Méndez, UC Berkeley graduate student, we are currently focusing on creating materials for learners, visit our website for more information.

Other theoretical interests of mine are in generative syntax and morphology. My dissertation research aims to understand the nature of person features, pronominal syntax and pronominal spell out in Mam.
